This year we have added a new event / interest to our festival

The 1st Annual BLOOMING BONNET CONTEST

Sponsored by Country Sunshine Cabins & the Gathering Barn

 

This special event will be judged in 4 main categories with 2 prizes awarded in each category and

1 GRAND PRIZE to be awarded for the OVERALL BEST BONNET! 

There will be a total of  9 prizes to be awarded for this event.

 

To start off this unique contest...

 Participants will have the opportunity to show off their entries on Saturday morning for the first annual ''Struttin' the Sidewalk Bonnet Parade'' down W Main Street.  Lineup will begin on the courthouse and will end at a designated space on the Court House Lawn, where contestants will be judged. 

Winners will be announced and prizes distributed at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23.

Contestants must be present and wearing their bonnet/hat, along with their

registered entry number, in order to be eligible to win.

 

The 4 Categories of the Blooming Bonnet Contest are:

 

  • Baby Blossom                       for contestants ages -infant to 3 years of age     2 prizes (Prizes to be announced at a later date)

  • Little Bud                               for contestants ages 4 thru 12 years of age      2 prizes (Prizes to be announced at a later date)   

  • Swaggering Sprout              for contestants ages 13 thru 17 years of age       2 prizes (Prizes to be announced at a later date)   

  • Buddingly Boujee                 for contestants ages 18 thru senior adults           2 prizes (Prizes to be announced at a later date)

 

The GRAND PRIZE:

the ''BLOOMING Idiot'' award         All contestants are eligible to win            1 prize (Prize to be announced at a later date)

 

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

1  Your bonnet or hat must be original and must be decorated with a Springtime theme in celebration of the Blooming Arts Festival

2  Contestants must be present to win and must be wearing their springtime head attire

3  Entries must be tastefully decorated. Any offensive entries will be disqualified.

4 Contestants are to meet at the courthouse at 9:00 am to begin the Blooming Arts ''Struttin' the Sidewalk''

    walking bonnet parade. Parade ends at the courthouse lawn, where judges wil decide upon the winners. 

    Winners to be announced at 10:00am.

5  Each of the four categories will be judged for 2 different prizes:

    ''Most Eye-catching'' and ''Most Unique''
